Traffic and Criminal Law / DWI

Tickets and Violations
If you have received a traffic citation, consulting with an experienced attorney may save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. In most cases it makes no sense to plead guilty as charged and just pay the fine. Traffic tickets can result in a lot more, including increased insurance rates as well. In some instances we can plea to a reduced speed, a prayer for judgment continues (PJC), or other legal options that are in a person’s best interest.

Call us for a consultation to see if we can use our knowledgeable experience to see if we can help you receive a more favorable outcome.

DWI
Most arrests for DWI result in a conviction. This conviction can result in fines, driver’s license revocation, community service, possible jail time, and an enormous increase in automobile insurance up to 450%. Thus it is strongly recommended that you seek representation by an attorney if you have been arrested for DWI.

Driver’s License Issues
We may be able to help resolve driver’s license issues including suspended license, expired license, revoked license, and other issues.

Driver's License and Insurance Points

We try to minimize or eliminate the effect of points on your driver’s  license and auto insurance

The Arrest Process
When someone is arrested by the police, a specific series of events follows. The police are required to follow legal procedures throughout the arrest process and the stages leading up to placing the suspect in jail. Based on the 1966 Supreme Court ruling of Miranda vs Arizona, an individual being placed under arrest has certain rights that must be explained to them before any questioning can take place.

The five different rights are known as the Miranda Rights:
1. You have the right to remain silent and refuse to answer any questions.
2. Anything you do say may be used against you in a court of law.
3. You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police and to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future.
4. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish.
5. If you decide to answer questions without an attorney present, you will still have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to an attorney.
